Tab: Home Page

In this section, you can set the Title Tag, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords for your store’s home page. This is similar to the options available under System > Settings > Edit Store in OpenCart. However, OpenCart doesn’t support multi-language fields for these meta tags by default. With this extension, you can configure unique Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, and Meta Keywords for each language version of your store.

Example (English):

• Title Tag: Home - Best Electronics Store
• Meta Description: Discover the latest in electronics, from phones to computers. Free shipping on orders over $50.
• Meta Keywords: electronics, phones, laptops, gadgets

Example (Spanish):

• Title Tag: Inicio - Tienda de Electrónica
• Meta Description: Descubre lo último en electrónica, desde teléfonos hasta computadoras. Envío gratis en pedidos mayores a $50.
• Meta Keywords: electrónica, teléfonos, computadoras, gadgets

Tab: Paginated Pages

By default, OpenCart uses the same Title Tag and Meta Description for all pages in a paginated series (e.g., when you have more than 10 products in a category, and OpenCart divides the results into multiple pages). This causes search engines to treat all paginated pages as duplicates, negatively affecting your SEO.

With this extension, you can create unique Title Tags and Meta Descriptions for each paginated page. You can use the following shortcodes:

• {page}: Page Number
• {meta}: Existing Meta Title (from previous page)

This allows you to generate unique meta tags for each page of a paginated series, improving SEO.

Example for Page 1:

• Title Tag: Electronics - Best Deals | Page 1
• Meta Description: Explore the best deals on electronics! Shop phones, laptops, and more on page 1.

Example for Page 2:

• Title Tag: Electronics - Best Deals | Page 2
• Meta Description: Find more great electronics deals on page 2! Phones, laptops, and gadgets await you.

Tab: Search Pages

For search pages, you can customize the Title Tag, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords based on the search query. The following shortcodes are available:

• {page}: Page Number
• {total}: Product Count
• {tag}: Search Term (e.g., “Nike Shoes”)

This allows you to generate dynamic and unique meta content for each search query and page.

Example for a search query “Nike Shoes” on Page 1:

• Title Tag: Search Results for Nike Shoes | {total} Products - Page {page}
• Meta Description: Find {total} products for your search "Nike Shoes" in our store. Shop now and get free shipping!
• Meta Keywords: Nike Shoes, running shoes, sports footwear

Example for Page 2 of the same search:

• Title Tag: Search Results for Nike Shoes | {total} Products - Page {page}
• Meta Description: Explore more Nike shoes on Page {page}. Browse {total} products for your search "Nike Shoes".

Tab: Tag Pages

Similarly to search pages, you can customize the Title Tag, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords for tag pages. The following shortcodes can be used:

• {page}: Page Number
• {total}: Product Count
• {tag}: Tag Name (e.g., “Sale”, “New Arrivals”)

This allows you to create SEO-friendly meta tags for each tag page.

Example for a “Sale” tag on Page 1:

• Title Tag: {tag} - {total} Products | Page {page}
• Meta Description: Check out {total} products under our {tag} section. Huge discounts await you!

Example for Page 2 of the “Sale” tag:

• Title Tag: {tag} - {total} Products | Page {page}
• Meta Description: More amazing deals on {tag}! Find {total} products in this page of the sale.

Tab: Routes

In this section, you can add Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, and Meta Keywords for specific routes in your store, such as login pages, account pages, or contact pages. OpenCart doesn’t provide the ability to manage meta tags for specific routes by default, but this extension allows you to do so.

For example:

• For the login page (e.g., account/login), you can set:
  • Title Tag: Login to Your Account | Your Store
  • Meta Description: Log in to your account to manage orders, track shipments, and update personal information.
  • Meta Keywords: login, account, manage orders
• For the contact page (e.g., information/contact), you can set:
  • Title Tag: Contact Us | Your Store
  • Meta Description: Have a question? Contact us today for customer support, inquiries, or feedback.
  • Meta Keywords: contact, customer support, inquiries

To add data for any route, click the Add Meta button located at the top-right corner of the page.

Final Steps

Once you have configured all the meta tags for the Home Page, Paginated Pages, Search Pages, Tag Pages, make sure to click the Save button at the top-right to apply your changes.
